About
2019 AFL Ratings Page. Instead of basing a player’s value via certain statistics, this rating system goes beyond just statistics and also accounts for consistency, reliability and the general impact that they have to their team.
The highest rating a player can achieve is a rating of 99. In order for a player to increase their rating, they must perform at that level consistently for a given period of time.
Potential
Younger players also have a rating for their ‘potential’. This is a general indication of the perceived potential ability this player will have when they reach their prime. Their current ability, their age, their position in the draft as well as general signs they have shown so far are taken into consideration for the final figure.
derived information
With given ratings and potentials as an indication of a player’s current and future ability, this can potentially be used as a tool for list management and as well as an indication of the current ability of a given team.
updates
A player’s rating is likely to change within the season, thus, weekly updates will occur on the page, and all changes will be displayed. Best 22s will be updated each week as well as big name injuries can have a significant impact upon the overall rating of a team.
